The XEM3010 indicates that to program the on board FPGA prom, a seperate hardware/software solution is required (from Xilinx).
Being able to program the prom through the USB port (and OK software) will make things simpler.

Thanks Kamtsa – we are working on a USB-based way to configure the PROM but do not have a release date set for that. The device was designed with this capability in mind.
